Licensing
Sidub Inc. publishes its software under a dual-licence model: an open-source licence for community use, and a proprietary licence for commercial and personal use that requires distinct terms.
Dual-Licence Model
Each licensable product is released under two parallel licences. Users select the option appropriate to their intended use. The same body of source code is offered under both — the licence chosen by the user determines the terms that apply to their copy.
The full legal text of each licence is published alongside the source code, and the summary on this page is provided for orientation rather than as a substitute for the agreement itself.
Open-Source Option — AGPLv3
The open-source version is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3. Under the AGPLv3, the software may be used, modified, and distributed freely, provided that any derivative work is also released under the AGPLv3 and that source code is made available to users who interact with the software over a network.
The canonical AGPLv3 text is published at gnu.org/licenses/agpl-3.0.html and is included in each source distribution as LICENSE-AGPLV3.txt.
Proprietary Option — PSLA
For organizations that cannot accept the obligations of the AGPLv3 — typically because they wish to embed Sidub software in a proprietary product or service — the firm publishes a Proprietary Software License Agreement (PSLA). The PSLA grants a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the software under one of four licence types:
Free Licence. A revocable right to use the software at no cost for personal or non-commercial purposes, covering any version released prior to the licence's expiration.
Perpetual Licence. An indefinite right of use following a one-time payment, including updates within the same major version.
Subscription Licence. A time-limited right of use covering any version released prior to the subscription's expiration; renewable for continued updates.
Consumption Licence. A right of use based on measured usage of the software, covering any version released prior to the licence's expiration.

Availability of Licence Types
The licence types available — open-source, free, perpetual, subscription, and consumption — may vary by product and by version. Sidub Inc. reserves the right to determine which licence types are offered for each product.
Additional Terms
Use of Sidub software is also governed by the firm's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which apply alongside the chosen licence.
Contributor Licence Agreement
The firm welcomes contributions from the community. Contributors must sign the Contributor License Agreement (CLA) before their work is incorporated. The CLA grants Sidub Inc. the rights required to use, modify, and distribute contributions under both the AGPLv3 and the proprietary licence.
The CLA is described in CONTRIBUTING.txt in the source distribution and is signed at sidub.ca/contribution.
Warranty and Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the software is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties or conditions of any kind, express or implied — including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Sidub Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, revenue, data, or use — arising from use of the software, whether in contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise.
Important Notice
Use of the software under the AGPLv3 requires compliance with all of its terms. Redistribution is permitted only under the AGPLv3, and the software cannot be relicensed under proprietary terms without prior written consent from Sidub Inc.
Governing Law
This licensing arrangement is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
